A Tradition of FIRSTS
Southwestern Medical Center was the first hospital in Lawton to be awarded “Accreditation with Commendation” – the highest level of accreditation awarded by the Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest accrediting body.
Our Southwestern Regional Cancer Center was not only the first cancer program in Southwest Oklahoma, but also the first to be accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the first in southwest Oklahoma to offer Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).
The Southwestern Rehabilitation Center was the first rehabilitation facility to receive a three-year accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This is the highest level of accreditation achievable.
Southwestern Medical Center is also the first and only Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center in south western Oklahoma.
